Gelato and tiramisu tastes at the Ancient Fair of San Gregorio anticipate the 7th European Day of Artisan Gelato.

The 7th edition of Prosecco Superiore Gelato Competition took place during the Ancient Fair of San Gregorio (9th-10th -11th March) in Valdobbiadene Municipality (Veneto) in cooperation with Longarone Fiere – MIG, gelateriedelterritorio.it and Cantina Produttori di Valdobbiadene – Val d’Oca.

This initiative represent the preview of the 7th European Day of Artisan Gelato (24th  March) an wants to promote the connections between Prosecco and gelato, two pillar products of Veneto area and of Made in Italy worldwide.

The 5th July 2012 the European Parliament of Strasbourg designate the European Day of Artisan Gelato because “between fresh daily

products, artisan gelato represents the excellence in terms of quality and food safety, which enhances the value of the agri-food products of each Member State”. Therefore the day assumes a great promotional value that should involve as much as possible the whole artisan gelato industry.Giornata Europea Gelato Artigianale LOGO

Those are the gelato makers that had to balance the Prosecco Superiore gelato, an hard challenge because alcohol is anticoagulant so it increase the difficulty to prepare the cold dessert.
